Collards prefer cooler weather, so plant in early spring or late summer.
Prior to planting, till the soil to a depth of 8 inches. Space the seeds 2 to 4 inches apart in rows 2 feet apart and cover them with 1/4 inch of fine soil. Firm lightly and water gently.
